PDN announces Mike Johnston, on his site The Online Photographer, has written a critique of what he calls “The Worst Photograph Ever Made.” It’s an image shot by Annie Leibovitz for the 2009 Lavazza espresso calendar.
the picture above is the image he was talking about, and while i do think it is really not very good at all, i think Daryl Lang was correct in saying “Is anybody willing to defend September-October?” that one is just fucking awful. seriously. the Leibovitz is a visionary and an icon, but this is a perfect example of how every one really drops the ball sometimes. i hope it is an inspiration to people to just do better, instead of just a chance to laugh at our heroes.

Obama poster mystery solved!!!
By now it’s safe to bet that most of the world has seen artist Shepard Fairey’s “Hope” poster of President-elect Barack Obama, but did you ever wonder who the photographer is whose picture was the basis of the artist’s work?
Also, isn’t it a bit strange that up until now no one’s even asked?
